Statement Recorded Before Metropolitan Magistrate
Actor Nora Fatehi on Monday recorded her statement before the Metropolitan Magistrate Kapil Gupta in a defamation case filed by her against another Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez and various media organizations.
False Narratives Ruining Reputation
Ms Fatehi stated, “This defamation case has been filed against Jacqueline Fernandez and the various other channels and publications who have ruined my reputation in the public eye through false narratives. They have called me a gold digger and accused me of having a relationship with a con artist Sukesh Chandrasekhar.”
- This has caused me a loss of financial gain and reputation.
- I have nothing to do with the ongoing ED case against Sukesh.
- I have been used as a scapegoat in this case to safeguard certain people.
- I want compensation for all the damages caused to my career.
Harassment and Cyberbullying
Jacqueline has stated in the media why the ED has listed me as a witness in the case and herself as an accused. “This statement has led to prolonged and unnecessary harassment, loss of work, and cyberbullying,” Fatehi said in her statement.
The actor in her defamation complaint stated that a conspiracy by Jacqueline Fernandez to ensure her financial, social, and personal downfall was enacted with the help of various media organizations.
Patiala House Court on Monday decided to record the statement of another witness in the matter in September.
Harm to Reputation
Nora through the complaint claimed that Jacqueline Fernandez’s statement has caused harm to her reputation for malicious reasons.
- Deliberate attempt to absolve herself from her own actions.
- Unnecessarily dragged Nora and defamed her.
- Tarnishing Nora’s reputation to benefit her rivals in the industry.
Reputation in the Film Industry
The actor emphasized that reputation is an asset in the film industry, and any dent in the same would cause significant damage to their career.
Claim of False Statement
Nora Fatehi alleged that Jacqueline made a false statement unnecessarily, knowing the impact it would have on Nora’s career.
Investigation in Extortion Case
Both Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez have been questioned by different investigation agencies in the 200 crore extortion case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar and others.
