According to the police, a religious procession, ‘Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra’, which was flagged off from Gurugram’s Civil Lines by BJP district president Gargi Kakkar, was stopped by a group of men near Khedla Mod in Nuh.

The state government has sent additional troops from neighboring districts and is appealing to all to maintain peace.
The Haryana home minister, Anil Vij, said, “Our first priority is to bring the situation under control. We are also trying to send forces by helicopter.”
Congress MLA from Nuh, Ch Aftab Ahmed, expressed disappointment with the administration and police’s handling of the situation. He said, “The situation is unfortunate. I have never seen such a failure of administration and police.”
The police had to use tear gas shells to disperse the crowd, and the state government temporarily suspended mobile internet services till Wednesday. Prohibitory orders banning assembly of people were also clamped in the area.
The police reported some injuries but were not able to provide immediate numbers.
The clashes were triggered after Bajrang Dal activist Monu Manesar, who is accused of lynching two Muslim men, and his associates had circulated an objectionable video a few days ago and were supposed to join the procession.
A flag march was later carried out by the police to maintain law and order in the region. The situation is now stable according to Nuh SHO Hukam Singh.
