“We were right in the chase. We made some errors which cost us, but it is fine,” India captain Hardik Pandya said.
West Indies’ Batting Struggles
The West Indies won the toss and chose to bat first. However, they struggled to get going as Yuzvendra Chahal removed both openers. Rovman Powell’s 48 and strong partnerships with Nicholas Pooran (41) and Shimron Hetmyer (10) helped lift the hosts to a total of 149.
The West Indies claimed a narrow victory over India in their 200th T20 international. The second game of the five-match series will be played in Guyana on Sunday.
