Introduction
After Diablo 4’s disastrous nerf-heavy patch earlier this month, Blizzard promised they had learned their lesson and that not only would they not swing that hard in the future, they were going to come out with a large patch soon addressing two hit-hard classes, Sorcerer and Barbarian.
Upcoming Patch Details
The result is a sprawling list of changes that are 100% buffs to classes, 99 in total that I could count, with well over half of those going to Sorcerer and Barbarian alone. Sorcerer in particular got a huge amount of help to its fire and lightning based branches, plus lots of damage reduction. These are not yet finalized patch notes. 90-95% of things will probably make it to the patch, and some values may change. But they are trying to be more open about changes more early. The release date for the patch is Tuesday, August 8. Official patch notes that sort of look like this list will be out August 2.
Sorcerer Changes
- Skill: Flickering Fire Bolt – Fire Bolt generates 2 Mana when hitting an enemy
- Skill: Enhanced Fireball – Casting Fireball increases its radius by 50%
- Skill: Destructive Fireball – Critical Strikes Damage is increased by 20%. This bonus is increased to 30% if Fireball hits 3 or more enemies.
- Skill: Greater Chain Lightning – Each time Chain Lightning bounces, its next hit deals 5% increased damage.

Barbarian Changes
- Skill: Bash – Fury gained increased from 11 to 13
- Skill: Flay – Fury gained increased from 10 to 13
- Skill: Frenzy – Fury gained increased from 2 to 3
- Skill: Lunging Strike – Fury gained increased from 10 to 12
- Skill: Double Swing – Damage increased from 40% to 50%
